Potato Spud Cake balls
'

Sponge cake that's made from a 12 egg Simple Sponge

Buttercream

3-4 sticks of unsalted butter
1- 1 1/2, 14oz can of sweetened condensed milk or dolce de leche
2-3Tbsp coco powder
2 Tbsp rum

Break up the sponge cake in to small pieces.
Put the butter in a mixer bowl, whisk on high speed until light and fluffy.
Add sweetened condensed milk and when you add most of the milk taste and see if it's set enough of not then add more and taste after every addition.
At this point of you plan to decorate the spuds then take about 3 Tbsp of cream to the side.
Start adding the coco powder, blend very well.

Start adding the cream to the cake crumbs until everything cooked together. Don't add too much cream or the spuds won't hold together.
Now roll them in to potato shapes and roll in coco powder.
At this point you can leave them as is or you can add a little decoration on top.

Simple Sponge

You can use this cake base for a lot of different cakes by just changing the icing.

For the perfect sponge you will need to take however many eggs you want to use, separate egg whites from egg yolks. Measure the egg whites in a cup, and that is how much sugar and flour you'll need.

This recipe is just how i make this cake with my measurements.

12 eggs (room temp)
1 1/2 cup sugar
1 1/2  cup flour
1tsp Vanilla

preheat over to 350F
Whisk your eggs until light and fluffy.
Add sugar slowly.
Turn mixer to the lowest speed and slowly add flour. You can do this step by hand just fold in the flour.
Pour the batter in to your cake pans, you need either 2, 8in -10in pans whichever you prefer.
Bake 25-40 mins test the cake by touching the top of the cake. When taking the cake out of the oven be careful not to tap or hit the cake too hard on anything or your cake will deflate.

This is the step by step tutorial

Stuffed Cabbage (golubci)

These stuffed cabbages are a very popular Russian dish. They are served with sour cream. I always mix my regular sour cream with a little milk to make it a little thinner and it tastes better like that too.

Recipe.
1 head of cabbage
1 LB ground beef
1 LB ground pork
1 cup rice
1 egg
1 Tbsp mayonnaise
1  small piece of bread or dinner roll
little bit of milk (to soak the bread in)
1/2-1 onion
salt and pepper to taste
tomato paste (optional)

Preparation.
1. Cut the stem out of the cabbage, Put the cabbage in a big pot fill with water and boil until the cabbage is nice and soft but don't overcook or the leaves will fall apart.

2. When the cabbage is cooked strain it and let it cool. Take all the leaves apart and cut the veins either off or just shave them off so that they're not so thick and the cabbage leaf is flexible.

3. Take the soaked bread squeeze out extra milk and put the bread through the meat grinder with the onions, or put both in a blender and blend.

4. Ground meat, rice, egg, mayonnaise, bread and onions, salt and pepper plus the optional tomato paste. Mix everything together very well.

5. Take one cabbage leaf and lay it flat put some meat mixture at the top and roll.

6. Boil some water, put a couple small cabbage leafs at the bottom of a pot add a little bit of sour cream and tomato paste or ketchup and now pour a little bit of water on top just to melt the sour cream and the tomato paste.

7. Start layering the cabbage rolls now, stuff them as tight as you can. now pour boiling water on top to cover.

8. Put the pot on the stove on high heat, when it starts boiling lower the temperature to medium or med-low (this will depend on your stove) and let everything shimmer for about 45mins.

9. Serve topped with sour cream

If you have left over stuffing roll it in to meatballs and cook the same as the regular stuffed cabbage.

Cute as a Button! Buttons AI2 cloth diapers review.

These adorable cloth diapers are an AI2 system. This is a very affordable cloth diaper system. The covers cost $11 for solid colors and $12.50 for prints. The inserts you can choose either microfiber 3 pack for $10.50 nighttime doublers 2 for $10, or hemp/organic cotton daytime Inserts 3 for $23.25 and nighttime doublers 2 for $19.50. Inserts are in 2 sizes small and large.

The covers are made of 2 layers of PUL, very soft, they have double gusset and tummy elastic great for tummy sleepers. The trim on these diapers is very soft and won't dig in to babies skin.
Inside of the cover

Tummy Elastic

Double gusset

These diaper covers are one size they fit from from birth to potty training,  9-35 pounds, they're very generously cut great for chubby babies, but when you snap then down to newborn they're very small and can definitely fit a newborn.  Diapers are very well made and will last though more then one baby.
Newborn setting

Toddler Setting

These covers have the cutest little buttons embroidery on the back which is too cute!

They have 2 sizes for inserts small and a large. Inserts are either microfiber topped with  stay dry fleece, or hemp/organic cotton typed with stay dry fleece. There's also night boosters which are also either microfiber or  hemp/organic cotton.

I tested the hemp organic cotton inserts and the hemp organic cotton night booster. The daytime hemp inserts are made of 4 layers of hemp /organic cotton plus the stay dry fleece. Night booster is 5 layers of hemp/organic cotton. The night booster snaps right under the daytime insert which gives you 9 layers of absorbent material at night, and snaps in to the cover. The diaper is still very trim even with both inserts, of your baby doesn't like bulky diapers this would be a great solution for you.
With both a daytime insert and the night doubler

You can also reuse the diaper cover up to 3 times by just taking the insert put wiping the cover and snapping a new insert in. You can also use any other insert even a small prefold If you like, Just make sure you never put microfiber against babies skin! If there's poop I the cover then it needs to be washed already.

Here you can watch the whole review on YouTube

You can buy these diapers from Buttons Diapers
